Children for Life (CFL) provides Conditional and Unconditional Cash Transfers to vulnerable and qualified families as a direct way of supporting children’s well-being and long-term development.
Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCTs) are provided only during emergency and humanitarian response situations, where families require immediate support to meet basic needs.
Our primary approach is the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) model, which has been widely implemented and proven effective across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. CCTs are globally recognised as a powerful tool for reducing poverty, addressing inequality, and strengthening household resilience.
Through the CCT model, cash is provided to poor and vulnerable households on the condition that families:
-
Send their children to school
-
Regularly visit health clinics
-
Ensure children receive adequate nutrition
-
Practice safe hygiene and sanitation
By linking financial support to positive behaviours, CFL helps families invest in their children’s health, education, and future opportunities. These programmes are among the most impactful social development innovations, empowering families not only to survive, but to break the cycle of poverty, build a better future and the well-being for their children.
